Mr. & Mrs. Shelley's Style
Our massages are tailored to each client. We fuse elements of Swedish massage, Myofascial release, Thai massage, Shiatsu, Sports massage, and Reflexology in an ongoing conversation with your muscles. For details of what each of these massage styles bring to the table, read on...
SWEDISH COMBO - Long, flowing strokes, oils, creams, bliss. Napping sometimes occurs. Muscles melt, joints bend. Tendons shake off rust. Brains tingle. Shut your eyes and you're on a beach, or a yacht, or a mountain. Performed with client draped under sheets, on a table. Good for over-all relaxation, peace of mind, lowering stress, increasing range of motion, and, with focused deeper treatment, for unlocking troublesome trigger points (knots).
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE - This is a form of soft tissue therapy characterized by slow compression, holding, and stretching of hypertonic muscles and their surrounding sweater of tissue, or fascia. The slowness encourages tension to let go, and also works to lower body-wide stress levels. Perfect for the stressed-out, the over-booked, and the over-trained. Stillness in an ever-moving world.
THAI YOGA MASSAGE - An ancient form of massage in which we compress and stretch your muscles in a steady rhythm that both soothes and energizes. Ever wish someone could do your yoga for you? Called 'lazy yoga' by some, Thai massage accomplishes just this, as we put you into several different yoga poses in a slow dance that promotes lengthening and relaxation.
SPORTS MASSAGE - Massage can be a great compliment to an athlete's training regimen, as it helps keep muscles working and healing optimally. It's also great after the big event to speed recovery.
REFLEXOLOGY - An ancient art form in which we work the zones of your feet to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and boost immunity. Our feet look up at us all day wondering when, oh when, will we give them a rest? Take a load off of your feet. They need it.
PRENATAL MASSAGE - Moms-to-be rejoice! Mrs. Shelley is certified in prenatal massage. Allow her to ease the physical aches and pains that come with the joyous experience of pregnancy.
CHAIR MASSAGE - Yup -- massage in a chair! Treat yourself and your staff to a session of chair massage, which has been shown to boost morale and increase productivity in the work place. Also, chair massage can be a quick picker-upper for people who don't have time for a full massage session. And -- little known fact: the Dow Jones Industrial average goes up when people receive chair massage.
